Brian was my colleague and strong right arm for a good many years. He published or co-authored 17 publications on the insect Order Thysanoptera, with important works on the African, Australian, British and Indian faunas, including the Handbook to British Thysanoptera. He made a massive contribution to the collections of the Natural History Museum, and his publications continue to be used.
